REVERIE

Public Library, Nashville, Tennessee 2024

Our series of functional sculptures integrated into the new library’s green space encourage the pursuit of reverie; they foster reading, writing, drawing, conversation and playing music, every flavor of creativity and play. Organic shapes cut from solid marble quarried in East Tennessee, the seating sculptures are open to interpretation and functionality, engaging the imagination and nurturing conviviality in this verdant public commons.  The human form completes the composition, drawing attention to the interplay of the ethereal and the lasting, best exemplified by libraries.
