SHED, Healdsburg, CA • 2013
Scott designed his new line of furniture for Healdsburg Shed as an exercise in radical pragmatism. Consisting of just four unique pieces: café chair, barstool, community table and ‘story’ table, the line references pallets, packing crates, fences and barns, in honor of the region’s rich agricultural legacy. Scott considers his new line of furniture for Shed as belonging to the same extended family. He wanted to evoke a particular character by the way the furniture is put together – very straightforward and rigorous, fasteners exposed, durable but repairable – as if it was made by a farmer.
